Boost reception strength and signal quality of emergency weather alert broadcasts with the Ambient Weather 20-176 External Antenna.
Weather Radio reception is significantly reduced for homes or facilities with metal siding, window treatments, and electrical noise from machinery.
To improve reception, an external antenna can be placed outside or in an attic.
This package includes the weather radio antenna, and a connector to attach to coax cable (you provide the coax cable). In addition, an RCA to coax conversion cable is included to connect to the RCA connector on your weather radio.
The antenna is typically installed outside, on a pole. Additional cable lengths are available for outdoor installations. You can find pole mounting solutions and additional cables in the 'may we also suggest' section below.
The antenna is passive. To amplify the signal, order the Ambient Weather ANTAMP Digital Signal Amplifier for Indoor / Outdoor Antennas ANT1 and 20-176.
This will allow you to improve reception and under some circumstances, mount the antenna inside your house or facility.
To test your reception, take your radio outside. If your reception improves, the antenna will likely improve your reception. If you still do not receive reception, it may be your location.
Designed to operate with weather radios that include external antenna capability, including but not limited to Midland WR-300, WR-100, WR-120, Reecom, and Oregon Scientific WR608 weather radios.
