2005 Version History

October 26, 2005, Version 12.07p54
  • Fixes problem with zero values for outdoor temperature, channel 1 temperature, channel 2 temperature and channel 3 temperature. Reference p52 for details of the original fix.
  • Fixed problem with WeatherHawk. Did not properly close comport when selecting Advanced Communication Settings.
  • Fixed problem with Rainwise high windspeed when downloading the archived logger memory.

August 31, 2005, Version 12.07p53
  • The version loaded on the website was for the Weatherhawk only. This was corrected.

August 24, 2005, Version 12.07p52
  • Fixed problem with 0.0 degF (-17.8 degC) if data is not available from certain stations. If the temperature is exactly 0, it uses the previous temperature.
  • Fixed problem with Thunderstorm icon and data for 5-day forecast.

August 14, 2005, Version 12.07p51
  • Changed csv export version number from 1.00 to 1.01.

August 14, 2005, Version 12.07p50
  • Another update to the same problem addressed in p49. Solved problem with timeouts related to the Weather Underground causing all internet functionality to stop updating. The resultant code does not wait to close the multi-tasking thread and allows the operating system to timeout. The software will open a second multi-tasking thread and try again during the next update.
  • Fixed problem with Humidity not updating when the channel 1 sensor is substituted for the outdoor sensor. This worked for the temperature but not the humidity. This feature is ideal for users with Oregon Scientific WMR-112A stations that purchase another console but do not own an outdoor sensor.
  • Added montly and yearly rain to csv files (data.csv and data2.csv). This will cause ImageSalsa to stop updating, so you must upgrade to the latest version of ImageSalsa.
  • Fixed problem with thunderstorm 5-day forecast icon showing as a broken link because there were two parameter names for the same icon.

August 2, 2005, Version 12.07p49
  • Solved problem with timeouts related to the Weather Underground causing all internet functionality to stop updating.

June 7, 2005, Version 12.07p48
  • Complete overhaul of the weather website builder and associated tools. Click on this example webpage. The changes include background cell colors that change as a function of tempreature, automated insertion of the correct radar image for your location, insertion of weather warnings, 5-Day Forecast, the Weather Exchange Network and climate data (to name a few). To view the complete list of new tags, select Internet | HTML Tags from the menubar, and select the folder icon button.
  • Added html tag all_graphs, all_icons and all_gauges to allow easy insertion of all of the gauges and graphs on your webpage. This also eliminates the issue with re-sizing the graphics. Please Click on this example webpage.
  • Many more tags added to allow easy website template automation. Please reference the User's Manual for details.
  • Added new templates.
  • Some website do not allow full filepath ftp functionality. The software allows you to switch to the local directory first, and then define the local path as \ (no path defined).
  • 5-Day Forecast added. Reference Wunderground | 5-Day Forecast from the menubar.
  • Menu item Settings | Station Settings enhanced to include Station Location and Description and World Location for use as HTML Tags. Longitude and latitude now expressed in fraction of degrees rather then minutes and seconds.
  • File Tag redesigned - must no longer be defined in the File Tag window - any filename will do with the ^ parse character.
  • Significant updates to the User Manual.
  • Upgrades would overwrite the template files in the previous versions. To avoid this issue, the template files are copied to the root directory, unless the file already exists in the root directory.

April 28, 2005, Version 12.07p45
  • Precision was incorrect for rate of change values for HTML tags.
  • Mesomap mouse over stopped working in p44.
  • Texas Weather Instruments high resolution weather stations were not updating properly for specific versions of firmware.

April 22, 2005, Version 12.07p44
  • The HTML parsing (tag) routine in Version p43 introduced a problem with removing a space in some lines where no tags are included. Problem resolved.
  • Fixed problem with leading space in HTML tag lines by removing all surrounding white space.
  • Fixed long standing problem where file tag parsing did not work if there were spaces in the filepath (like c:\program files\vws\....)
  • Addressed Vantage Pro2 loss of communication experienced with both serial and USB versions (again). To review the possible error, select Communication | Communication and view the "Read Error" parameter.
  • For Texas Weather ASCII stations, added the ability to read the data feed string length, by selecting the Communication | Communication window.

April 18, 2005, Version 12.07p43
  • Fixed problem introduced in Version 12.07p41 with multiple sensors - Channel 2 Temperature was being ignored.
  • Fixed problem with spaces around HTML tags. VWS was inserting spaces before and after each HTML tag.
  • Addressed Vantage Pro2 loss of communication experienced with both serial and USB versions (again).

April 13, 2005, Version 12.07p41
  • Fixed issue with multiple sensors and the Vantage Pro/Pro2 series. To configure the sensors, select Settings | Vantage Accessories from the menubar, and check the sensors in your system. This will eliminate a very specific problem if a sensor was set up on one channel, then moved to a different channel (the data from the original channel was never "erased" and VWS treated this as valid data.
  • Fixed Vantage Pro2 loss of communication experienced with both serial and USB versions.

April 1, 2005, Version 12.07p38

  • Fixed problem with precision and rates of change.
  • Fixed problem with reading csv files in stationless mode.

March 24, 2005, Version 12.07p35
  • Fixed issue with WS2310 that resulted in reading zero values for the temperature, humidity, and total rainfall. This also resulted in incorrect daily, monthly, yearly,... rainfall.

March 17, 2005, Version 12.07p34
  • Fixed CPU issues with Vantage Pro2. This problem was introduced in Version 12.07p31. A delay was removed in the Davis communication background task, causing the high CPU useage. I am now seing CPU useage of 0-20% (increases for Internet operation), which is similar to the Davis WeatherLink software.

March 3, 2005, Version 12.07p33
  • Fixed spikes with windspeed introduced in p32 with Vantage Pro2.
  • Addressed lock-up problems with Vantage Pro2. Problem turns out to be data logger serial conversion drivers and not VWS.
  • Added WeatherCentral slides for on-air cable TV broadcasts (WxPoint Automated Weather Display System).

February 22, 2005, Version 12.07p32
  • Addressed issues with high CPU consumption and the VantagePro2.
